So last night the Fiancee and I went to the Lifehouse/Daughtry concert at the Peterson Event Center in Oakland. All in all, I’m pretty sure she had a blast. Myself? It was fun, but I went in not knowing practically anything about Daughtry. I knew a little bit about Lifehouse, from when they were first on the radio, but I’m not huge on anything American Idol.
In fact, I’ve only seen a handful of episodes from American Idol when I was forced to watch it in 12th grade Media Class. I don’t buy into all that hype, it’s not my scene and never will be. As far as the music I listen to, well, I listen to everything, but I mostly stay on the real heavy metal side of things. That doesn’t mean I can’t give respect where it’s due. Daughtry is a pretty talented singer, and the concert last night was pretty good. He did a cover of “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins that was just awesome, and I was hoping he would of played more cover songs, but what can you do.
All in all, it was a good time, and I’m very happy I went. There’s nothing better than being able to enjoy practically the same thing the love of your life does. Not to mention, I’m about 80% sure I’ve turned her into a die hard hockey fan. Which in all reality is awesome, because if she wasn’t a fan, she wouldn’t have me for 82+ days out of the year.
That’s my update for the day. Have a good one!
