Mondays, become such a motivational killer it isn’t even funny. I’m all pumped to start the week Sunday night, but when I make it into work, all motivation is lost with the attitude of the people around me. Their attitudes aren’t necessarily a bad thing either. A few of them are overly excited and can’t wait to talk to someone about their work plans and things that have to get done. While some people over complain about the starting week, and hate that they even have to think about stepping their foot inside the work place.
I’m somewhere right in the middle. I’m glad to have a job, but if I got paid to do something like sit at home or go to the movies, I’d be all over it and out of this place in a second. However, a job is a job, and I’m just happy to have one. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s a typical Monday and I’m completely indifferent to what’s going on.
The biggest news for YinzPitt.com is that Friday’s FF question game actually went off without a hitch. I’ve gotten a lot of great responses and it was fun looking back to the people who have affected us in this great city of Pittsburgh. It’s something I will be doing every Thursday/Friday on Twitter. It’s just too much fun to pass up!
Moving on to the news that happened on the weekend, that people may have missed.
Jonathan Baldwin, University of Pittsburgh wide receiver has been found not guilty of touching a woman’s buttocks on a bus. I completely forgot this happened and am glad it didn’t do anything to hurt his possible NFL career. Story can be found here: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/breaking/s_661665.html
It comes as to nor surprise that it’s cold outside. Temperatures and snow have been plaguing us for the past week. It’s really no fun, and the Tribune Review agrees with my thinking.
Ron Cook unloaded this story on the sports world with this article about Malkin. So far it’s created a lot of buzz that Cook hadn’t intended for. Ron Cook is basically being hung by his toes for it. Sorry buddy, stick to football. Don’t pollute the hockey world with your lack of knowledge. He even compares him to Jagr with his whole “dying alive” comment. His article can be found here: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10011/1027369-87.stm This is possibly the worst thing that could happen with hockey, when predominant football writers, try and dabble in the hockey world. They couldn’t be more wrong, and steer misguided people to thinking otherwise.
Smilin’ Like a Butcher’s Dog has an awesome article about Ron Cook and his stupidity: It can be found here.
Other than that, I got nothing. I’m tired, I’m un-motivated, and I want to be able to drive home with my windows down.
