Ben Case Moving To DA

So I had a post earlier about Net Neutrality.  It was ass backwards and I deleted it.  I’ve decided to strictly try and stick with Pittsburgh to keep this local and moved the actual Net Neutrality post elsewhere.  Moving on to actual Pittsburgh related news.  Our lovable Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has come up on TMZ again.

This time, the investigation is complete, and Ben still hasn’t talked to any law enforcement officials in Georgia.  So they handed their information over to the District Attorney.  It’s now up to the DA to decide if their going to press charges or not.  Information from TMZ:

The investigation into Ben Roethlisberger‘s sexual assault case has been turned over to the District Attorney.

TMZ confirmed Milledgeville Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation turned over their investigation results to DA Fred Bright this morning.

Yesterday, Milledgeville cops told TMZ they never got the follow-up interview with Big Ben that they wanted.

The DA will now decide if charges will be filed against the Pittsburgh Steelers QB.

This is either going to be the clean break us fans all want.  Or the inevitable nightmare of the 2010 season and beyond.  I personally am not looking forward to what the DA has to say about this issue.  In fact, I’m hoping on all accounts that this fades into oblivion.  However, for some odd reason, I think this is going to be the sticking point for the remainder of the year.

Will this affect Big Ben?  Will the constant questioning from the media effect the team chemistry?  What happens at the draft if charges are pressed?  All of these uncertainties are unnecessary by a long run.  Sure they weren’t needed, but it happened, and there’s no turning back.  I’m just hoping that a potential nightmare situation can be avoided in any way possible.
