Hey Brownies! Expect to see Troy!

What’s coming as a great sigh of relief after the bad news we learned about Aaron Smith injury, is that Troy Polamalu is expected to play after participating in a full week of practice.  This is wonderful news, and Tory Polamalu of course being his humble self disagrees that he’s going to make a huge impact on the game.  I think as always that Troy will be Troy and do his absolute best on the field, but it’s hard to that that with a bulky knee brace on.  Ryan Clark feels the same way as I do, and I’ve always said, there is something about Ryan Clark that just makes him a down to earth quote machine that everyone loves to talk to:

“We are excited to have him back,” safety Ryan Clark said. “Me and TP will be back there this week, so hopefully you will leave us alone about it the rest of the year.”

Wonderful words of wisdom, and it didn’t just stop there:

“(Once he gets) warmed up and they get him into the flow of the game, then they will try to do some other things,” Clark said. “I don’t think you can pass judgment on Derek Anderson from the Buffalo game.”

What the last quote meant is that, no matter who the team is, you can’t leave them alone thinking you’re simply going to dominate.  The Lions provided enough evidence of that last week.  Daunte Culpepper dropped back 47 times, including runs and sacks.  47.  In a world dominated by Steelers defense, that’s unheard of.

I just don’t think this game is going to be the same as last week.  The Cleveland Browns are in major trouble, amid trade speculation regarding Joshua Cribbs and Brady Quinn.  They have no real clear-cut number 1 quarterback, their wide receiver core looks to be in shambles,  Jamal Lewis is getting older, and Eric Mangini doesn’t seem to have control of anything regarding a team over there.  This is the NFL though, things change from week to week and anything can happen.  You have just got to love our chances this week with the return of Troy into the defense, knee brace or not.
