Jobs Tour Will Stop In Pittsburgh

On Sept. 23, a month long tour will stop in Pittsburgh, the day before the G-20 begins.  This will be it’s last stop and will end with a rally and close with a concert in Point State Park.  This information was taken from the Post-Gazette:

The Made in America Jobs Tour has held more than 50 events in 22 states, preaching a transition to clean energy that could simultaneously create jobs, reduce pollution and curb dependence on foreign oil.

Doors open at 5:30, and the free program, which includes speakers and a concert with Kathy Mattea and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, begins at 7:30.

Speakers at the event include state Sen. Jim Ferlo, Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope and AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, among others. The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir, Da Flow Band and Big Head Todd and the Monsters will also perform at the concert.

The tour is sponsored by the Alliance for Climate Protection, the United Steelworkers and the Blue Green Alliance, a coalition of labor unions and environmental organizations.
