Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato, will be hosting a pre G-20 summit tour today of this area’s region for all of the elected leaders across the country. Also, Onorato told KDKA today that no inmates will be released from the county jail to make room for the people arrested during the summit.
Also as released yesterday about the G-20 Resistance group, another roup called Code-Pink learned what they are allowed to do during the summit next week, via ruling by a judge. The judge allowed the group to use Point State Park as a demonstration area on Tuesday before the summit, and denied requests to use Schenley Park as an overnight campground when the summit is taking place.
The Judge also denied a request allowing a march that begins in Oakland to end on the 7th Street Bridge where protesters wanted to hold a rally. Well, that’s good and all. How, and where are these people going to be able to protest their freedom of speech? Seems like trouble is going to brew about this, if they aren’t allowed to protest. Hopefully all comes through soon.
Finally don’t forget, that the G-20 Resistence group is planning an un-approved rally set for the 24th.
