Well, in an unsurprising turn of events, Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato will officially announce Tuesday that he wants to run for Governor of Pennsylvania. He will be traveling across the state of Pennsylvania making various stops along the way. I can safely say, his approval rating around here alone could tank his running before it even starts.
He’s been out of favor ever since he enacted the alcohol tax to help fund the Port Authority, however when the Port Authority was sufficiently funded, he tried to use that money for other various things to fix around the city, causing much criticism city wide for horrible tactics.
Hell, I can’t think of a place where the guy isn’t booed when he speaks in Pittsburgh, which if we’re doing it now, how will Philadelphia react when they catch wind of him being a total jack-ass. It’s not even so much that I don’t like him, it’s just what I see while attending various events where he has spoken and he has been booed the entire time he tried to speak.
I actually can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Anyways, information listed below details what Onorato will be doing today:
He will begin the day in Philadelphia, then move on to Harrisburg before concluding the day on the South Side Tuesday night.
The doors for the event in Pittsburgh will open at 5 p.m. at the IBEW Local 5 Hall on Hot Metal Street.
A coalition of student and community groups will peacefully assemble outside the IBEW Hall on Pittsburgh’s Southside to protest Onorato’s candidacy.
Onorato will be back on the road Wednesday and Thursday as part of his three-day announcement tour.
Well, good luck I guess, but this looks like a train-wreck waiting to happen for Dan Onorato. Finally, I’d still like to know where this $35 million in “profit” during the G20 went. I haven’t seen to many local business bragging about how much more business came in.
