We’ve got a few things to talk about today. First off, it’s Friday, second off. I just have no desire to be inside since it’s probably the last semi-nice day for the weekend. We’ll be heading to the Pirates game on Sunday as they play the Braves. Hopefully I see another win, as every time I’ve been there in the past two years, the Pirates ended up winning and are 8-1 for the games that I’ve been in attendance.
My only concern is that this team has been absolutely flirting with the .500 mark for the past week, and every time they get that close, they lose in horrible fashion. Like last night for example, so close, yet so far away. The base running was absolutely just terrible. The pitching was spotty at best, and it was just blah all over. I do give the Pirates a good bit of credit, it’s almost June and they are still trying to play some good baseball, so kudos to them.
Moving on to news regarding the city, I’ll post a few links you can check out.
Pittsburgh City Council supports hefty parking fine hike – I dislike this news very much, but what can you do. As always, the city is broke, and they need their cash like woah.
Penguins face tough decision with free agency – A Ron Cook article talking about the upcoming issues the Pens will have with free agency. Whatever you do, don’t re-sign, Ponikarovsky and Fedotenko. Please.
College Graduation Schedule – For all those young adults who actually made it through college and graduated. Pay attention Pittsburgh, this has the potential to jam up your day.
On the Steelers: Batch patiently waiting his turn – Good for him. He’s a great guy, but he’s too much of a glass pea shooter.
Pirates fall shy of Brewers, 4-3, in rare close loss – Terrible base-running and even more terrible batting. This team is stagnant on the offense right now. It’s time to make a change and see if there is still life there.
