Ah, it’s almost here! Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! I’m seriously pumped for this game….errr wait. I’m supposed to be talking about the Steelers(hence the title). Righty-O then. Monday night marks the return trip to the Mile High Stadium for the Pittsburgh Steelers to face the Denver Broncos. It’s also the second time in as many weeks the Bronco’s will certainly be facing a stiff competition on the defensive front and an elite offense.
Which brings me to the first little snippit for the day. Big Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback, is pushing for the no huddle offense. The Baltimore Ravens executed this almost to a T against the Bronco’s and beat them with it. Also, I think Ben got the hint that the Ravens could hold it down and show some weaknesses of the defense with no huddle:
“It seemed like in the second half, (the Ravens) did a lot of no-huddle,” Roethlisberger said Thursday. “They kind of just picked up tempo and had a couple of plays that got things going.”
Bruce Arians and Hines Ward are not be surprised that Ben is asking for this as usual:
“He lobbies every week,” Arians said.
“It’s something that Ben likes to do,” wide receiver Hines Ward said. “We’ve got a great feel for it, and we’ve had some success running the no-huddle.”
“It could show up a lot; it could not show up at all,” Arians said. “We’ll just see how it goes.”
I really hope it all works out, and I am almost certain we will see the no huddle in some point during the game, and I hope it exposes their “elite” pass coverage. Champ Bailey is good, but we’ve beat him a ton before. We’ll do it again. Moreno, their running back is still a rookie, and seeing as how we haven’t allowed a 100 yard rushed in like umpteen billion games, I expect it to be a very lackluster and painful game for him on Monday night.
Kyle Orton is Kyle Orton, the guy was marginally average in Chicago, and there is no way no how, he’s going to be that good against the Steelers, I just don’t see it. I’ll call it right now. He’s going to have under a 90 passing rating.

As for the Steelers. While the offense was sub-par against the Vikings, I expect it to rebound. The boy’s will get it going and it will be a 3 touchdown day.
The defense is what’s got me excited, and that’s even without Ryan Clark sitting. Carter and Townsend will probably be switching at the safety position and both are more then capable of handling. Not to mention, anytime Troy Polamalu is playing, the defense has a chance to do something special. As always, I’ll expect nothing but the best from those boys. James Harrison thinks the same way, as he was quoted as saying about the defense at the start of the season and now:
“To be honest with you, we played better defense this past month than when we did at the beginning of the season. Beginning of the season, it was a step late. This recent month, we were actually getting there.”
Is it fair to say James Harrison is a quality quote machine as much as he is great player? He’s got some good tidbits when you ask him the
right questions. He’s not all bronze and crazy stares. I mean he drives Smart Car. That alone puts him in environmentally nice guy status.
All in all, it’s going to be a great night. I’m excited, and I fully expect the Steelers will walk away with a win. It’s going to be a tough game, but in the end I think the Steelers defense and offense is just to much to handle for Orton and his crew.

Also I know the actual headline picture used is from last year. However, there is just no way around how bad ass Dick Lebeau looks in front of that defense. This is the year he gets his hall of fame nod. Posted below are links you can check out leading up to this game on Monday night against the Denver Broncos!
