Well this weekend was actually a pretty decent weekend for sports. The Pens showed life against a team that’s basically pure trash. I’m never afraid to say that about Philly either by the way. Pitt lost a somewhat close game, which I’ll get to later, and there will be no Favre hype machine, as he went vintage, and threw a pick to seal the game for the Saints. On one hand this weekend was awesome, and on the other, it was rather saddening.
I’ve come to the conclusion that I missed the Steelers while watching the Jets play-up and then lay down to the Colts. The Jets reminded me of the 2005 Steelers. Good to above average defense, a strong running game, and some kind of passing. However, unlike the Steelers, the Jets continued to run well after they should of started passing, and refused to change their defense when Peyton started picking it apart. Oh well though, now we get to sit through Peyton’s legacy yet again, and see if the ol boy can win another Super Bowl.
Which brings me to my last and final huge rant of the 2009-2010 NFL football season. I hate dome teams more than ever. More than likely the Super Bowl is going to be a casual fans dream with constant touchdowns and very little defense. Personally, I hope it rains like it did when the Steelers played Miami two years ago, and both of these “dome” teams play a little fun outside weather ball. Either way, I’ll root for the Saints because I can’t stand Manning.
Moving onto the Pitt basketball game. I might as well say this now as it shouldn’t need to be said, but for a lot of the people thinking about this weeks loss as a huge upset. It wasn’t. I actually think the Hall was favored to win. Even with the game as close as it was at times for Pitt, when you turn the ball over 20+ times and let Pope do whatever he wants down low, you’re gonna lose the game. That’s just how it is.
The overall Pitt game wasn’t actually that bad, but turnovers and some soft defensive break downs cost the Panthers dearly. Here’s the good news however. Pitt’s gonna lose games they should win and win games they should lose. It’s funny how it all works out, but at the end of the day, none of us faithful have control. Jamie Dixon’s gonna get it right, and do the best he can with the team he has on the floor.

Moving on to news about the site. Yinzpitt, is growing. Slowly but surely I’m moving it to various social networks and I’m trying to expand it as much as possible to get the name out there. So here’s my plea to everyone, just throw a little blurb out or invite your friends to become a fan on the facebook page. Anything little helps, and I’ll be eternally grateful.
